Let’s write some poems together!
We have really enjoyed writing poetry last week in our class and the children must have written about 300 separate poems!

We would really like to work with you if you can help us write some fun poetry this week. We could use our blog spaces or we could use our wikispace too!
This week we will be writing two different poems.
- If I were and If you were… poems (Wed 13th)
If you were a shining star
And I were your midnight,
I’d let you shine above me,
You’d be my only light.
If you were a scoop of ice cream
And I were an ice cream cone,
I’d put you on my shoulders
And hold you for my own.
- “Sick” poems based on Shel Silverstein’s work. (Thurs 14th)
“I cannot go to school today.”
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
The barber cut off all my hair.
I haven’t anything to wear.
I caught my finger in my fly.
I’m so embarrassed, I might die.
Let us know if you can share some writing with us - we would love it if you could help !!
Thanks to Giggle Poetry for the ideas.

We are working on some “Sick” poems to show you. We have our school picnic on Friday so they probably won’t be posted until Monday
